How many times have you thought to yourself after you have read something Wow I wish I could remember what page it was on? Have you found yourself reading a book and a few weeks later going over and reading it again? To successfully read a book or article you need to follow a few steps.
The first step in successfully reading a book is to skim through it. There may be some areas that you are more interested in. Spend that time reading those areas. Then, grab your highlighter, or pen and paper. Reread it. Highlight or takes notes on what you feel is important in it. Read the item entirely.
Now you can review what you have read more easily. Go over the highlighted areas. If you chose to take notes go over your notes. Go over them every few weeks. You will find that using this method you will get a lot more out of the book or article.
Do you feel that is a bit time consuming? Well imagine in a few months rereading the entire book because you don't remember all that was in the book. Using the above method all you have to do is reread the notes that you have written down.
